Ryo Tatsuki, a Japanese manga artist often referred to as the “Japanese Baba Vanga,” has garnered attention for her uncanny predictions of significant global events. Her 1999 manga, The Future I Saw, is particularly notable for its foresight into various disasters, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

In her manga, Tatsuki wrote: “Around 2020, an unknown virus will appear, reaching its peak in April.” This prediction eerily aligns with the emergence and global spread of COVID-19, which saw a significant surge in cases around that time. What makes this even more unsettling is her subsequent prediction: “It will then vanish but reappear around 10 years later,” suggesting a potential resurgence of the virus or a similar pandemic around 2030 .

Tatsuki’s track record includes other notable predictions. She reportedly foresaw the deaths of Freddie Mercury and Princess Diana, as well as the 1995 Kobe earthquake and the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Her predictions often stem from vivid dreams, which she documents meticulously.

While some skeptics question the validity of her forecasts, citing the lack of scientific evidence, others find the specificity and accuracy of her past predictions compelling. The potential return of a pandemic, as suggested by Tatsuki, serves as a reminder of the importance of global preparedness and the need to heed warnings, whether they come from scientific models or, intriguingly, prophetic dreams.

As 2030 approaches, the world watches with a mix of skepticism and concern, hoping that this particular prediction does not come to pass.
