Authorities have identified the two teenage suspects involved in the deadly shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, an attack that left five people dead and shocked communities across the United States. Investigators say the shooting is being treated as a possible hate crime after evidence linked to extremist ideology was reportedly discovered.
The attack happened at the Islamic Center of San Diego, the largest mosque in the region, where worshippers and children were present at the time of the shooting. Police say three members of the Muslim community were killed before the two suspects later died from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
Suspects Identified by Authorities
According to reports, the suspects were identified as 17-year-old Cain Clark and 18-year-old Caleb Velasquez. Investigators believe the pair had become radicalized online and may have been motivated by anti-Muslim hatred and white supremacist ideology. Law enforcement officials reportedly discovered extremist writings, racist messages, and Nazi-related symbols connected to the suspects.
