A short time ago, the United States military executed precision airstrikes on three major nuclear sites controlled by Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. These sites are well known—Fordow and Natanz have been central to Iran’s uranium enrichment efforts for years. As your President, I felt it was imperative to act decisively to eliminate an immediate and growing threat posed by the world’s leading state sponsor of terror. Our mission objective was unmistakable: erase their nuclear enrichment capability and send a strong international message.

I’m proud to report this evening that the operation was a spectacular military success. The targeted facilities were completely destroyed, and Iran’s capacity to produce enriched uranium has been halted. Iran, long considered a regional bully, must now choose peace. If they do not, subsequent strikes will be far more destructive and executed with even greater ease.

For 40 years, Iran has routinely chanted “Death to America, death to Israel,” and has been a relentless sponsor of violent attacks—particularly through roadside bombs and improvised explosive tactics that injured or killed many of our troops abroad. We have lost over 1,000 U.S. personnel, and hundreds of thousands around the world have suffered due to Iran-backed terrorism. A significant portion of that violence is connected to Iran’s former military commander, Qassem Soleimani. I made a clear decision some time ago: I would not allow this cycle of violence to continue, and tonight’s action proves that commitment.

I want to sincerely thank Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel. We operated in close coordination—perhaps as close as any U.S.-Israeli defense partnership in history. I also wish to commend the Israeli Defense Forces for their excellent collaboration. Most importantly, I want to praise the American patriots who flew these remarkable aircraft in tonight’s mission. The precision, strength, and professionalism displayed by the U.S. military are unparalleled.

This evening’s targets were among the most complicated and fortified in Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. But make no mistake—the United States military has accomplished a feat unlike any seen in decades. It’s my hope that this marks the end of such military action. But let me be perfectly clear: there are still numerous other strategic targets capable of being destroyed swiftly and effectively—many within minutes if Iran chooses further aggression.

If Iran fails to come to the negotiating table, there will be more tragedy for their regime—tragically greater than what has already unfolded over the past week. I want to emphasize: these strikes were conducted with precision, speed, and utmost skill. There is simply no military in the world—past or present—capable of such a swift, accurate, and coordinated strike. Our capabilities are unmatched.

Tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m., General Dan “Razin” Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will hold a press briefing at the Pentagon to provide further details on the operation.

In closing, I want to say a personal thank you—to God, for protecting our service members; to the U.S. Armed Forces, for their extraordinary commitment; and to all our allies in the Middle East, especially Israel. Let us hope and pray for peace. And may God bless the Middle East, God bless Israel, and God bless the United States of America.

  • Strategic Timing
These strikes come amid escalating tension and followed recent direct Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites in mid-June 2025.
  • Scale & Delivery
The U.S. reportedly deployed B‑2 stealth bombers armed with GBU‑57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators, along with Tomahawk missiles launched from submarines—an unprecedented use of advanced military capability.
  • Political and Constitutional Debate
Legal experts, especially in the Bay Area, are discussing whether this operation required Congressional approval, raising constitutional questions regarding the War Powers.
  • Diplomatic Background
Earlier in the spring of 2025, Iran and the U.S. engaged in indirect nuclear negotiations mediated by Oman starting in April. However, those efforts stalled by mid-June.

The international community has responded with a mix of support and concern. Critics warn of possible escalation and potential retaliation from Iran, possibly targeting U.S. bases or shipping routes.

President Trump framed tonight’s strikes as a decisive act to destroy Iran’s nuclear threat while issuing a stark warning: make peace or face greater devastation. The operation’s breadth and precision underscore a pivotal moment in U.S. military posture in the Middle East. As diplomatic, legal, and regional repercussions arise, tomorrow’s Pentagon briefing will be closely watched.
